Our challenge was to find a way to make this historical film feel modern and highlighting the social issues tackled by the strong themes within that remain prevalent today, whether they be Colette’s stand against her male oppressors or her exploration of her sexuality. We used a deliberate music selection as well as dynamic graphics. We also balanced the huge amounts of acclaim and praise to draw initial attention while maintaining a strong sense of storytelling.
